Welcome to Slavic Chorale!

We are a choir that seeks to serve our community through music. In order to create and maintain a culture of humility before God and service to people, we have agreed on certain expectations that we ask each singer to carefully consider and agree to. This will help us become a team of people who are dedicated to this ministry, who are reliable and trustworthy, and who recognize that we are God's family, united in Jesus.

Who we are

Slavic Chorale exists to help spread the influence of the kingdom of God through music. We believe that every person is created with a deep spiritual longing to worship their Creator, and that music is one of the primary ways in which we fulfill this need. Through the performance of music we can help people learn to fulfill their purpose and find real meaning in their lives. We encourage the musical, personal and spiritual growth of our members.

Requirements

  1. Have a passion for music

  2. Attend all rehearsals, be on time and give 100% effort.

  3. Attend all performances

A 3-month probation period exists for all new members, during which they will be evaluated on how well they fit within the group.

AUDITION PROCESS

Thank you for auditioning for Slavic Chorale!

At the audition, you will be asked to do two things:

  1. Sing a warm-up to check your vocal range.

  2. Sing your voice part in a section of one of our songs, “Благослови, душа моя, Господа,” in a quartet with three members of our choir as they sing the other parts.

We chose this song because it represents some of the unique challenges of singing in our choir, while not being too difficult vocally. We sing music in many different styles and from different periods of music history, including ancient chants, classical music, gospel, spirituals and modern worship music.

Our expectation is that a singer can learn his or her part on their own at home and be ready to sing at rehearsal. A demo recording for “Благослови, душа моя, Господа” is available at the link below.
